It all started several years ago as a simple gift idea for my parents. But what to get someone who has everything? After racking our brains, and surveying our limited Christmas budget (we had a newborn baby and things were a bit tight,) on a whim I decided to paint a watercolor home portrait.

Their beautiful, Southeast Texas home has been the backdrop of so many incredible memories; it's a member of the family really. Often four generations under one roof. The huge, shady backyard, ideal for rowdy grandchildren to run wild. The warm kitchen table, an inviting landing place for adult kids to catch up over coffee and sweet conversations. I married the love of my life in the front yard, beneath the twisting oak trees and towering pines. Their home has seen dozens of holidays, family reunions and birthday parties. It celebrates the happiest times of our lives and holds our family safe during the hard.

It was only fitting that the home itself deserved to be memorialized in a portrait. Beautiful, joyful, sometimes loud and crazy, but always filled with love. A simple nod to a lifetime of memories, right through the front door.
